Inherit Photography is run by me - Prashant Masterson. As well as the photography, I also design, create, and publish Inherit's Website. Richard MacCowan, freelancer, is Inherit's York based photographer.

Photography
Photography has been a vocation ever since I inherited my father's Olympus OM1n and legendary Zuiko lenses in the 1980's.

Despite my passion for photography, I was encouraged to also pursue a traditional education. Hence, I graduated from Cass Business School, London, where I attained a BSc(Hons) in Investment Studies. I went on to attain an MSc in Computer Science from The University Of Birmingham then later also attaining a Postgraduate Certificate In Education from the University Of Warwick.

Despite having undertaken this formal learning, at heart I remain a creative person and my passion is still capturing and documenting people images.

Today, a significant part of my photography is capturing family orientated events. I am particularly passionate about photographing multi generation family life before it disappears from modern life altogether. Of course weddings are the one of the few events where so many extended family and old friends get together. Here, my candid reportage style photography allows me to capture all those timeless moments old friends and families are interacting with one another.

Tools Today
Of course our tools have moved on from the OM1n and though we love film we are digital converts. These days our equipment includes full frame DSLRs, optics with floating gyroscopes and lighting systems which talk to one another wirelessly.
